LCD or LED for a shop window?
When choosing a screen for a street-level storefront, one of the key features to consider is its brightness level. The greater the exposure to sunlight, the higher the screen’s brightness level needs to be. Locations with high ambient light require a brightness of 2,500–3,000 nits.
Generally, LED screens achieve higher brightness levels than LCDs, reaching up to 8,500 nits in the
ES SERIES of standard outdoor LED screens, compared to the 4,000 nits that the brightest LCD screens on the market can achieve.
Indoor or outdoor display for a shop window?
Since shop window displays are not exposed to rain or other external factors, one might consider an indoor display. However, due to their exposure to sunlight, the most advisable option is an outdoor display, either from the E SERIES of outdoor LED displays or the R SERIES of rental LED displays.
The main reason for this choice is the high brightness provided by outdoor LED displays, which typically exceeds 5,500 nits (reaching up to 7,000) compared to the 700–1,000 nits of an indoor LED display.
The choice between the E SERIES or R SERIES will depend on the available space, the desired or recommended installation type, and the length of time the display will remain in the same shop window.
